Adaptix are a 3D X-ray technology company that design and build 3D imaging systems for medical and non-medical industries. Providing next generation NDT solutions to industries such as composites manufacture, 3D printed metals, cast metals and others, where non-destructive testing (NDT) is dominated by ultrasonics for speed, cost and portability benefits.

Addressing gaps in the NDT process for new product development for Aerospace and Automotive, the NDT systems from AdaptixNDT offer 3D internal visualization at the point of diagnostics earlier in manufacture and through-life with a consistent digital output facilitating Digital Twins and NDE4.0.

How it works.

Adaptix have developed Digital Tomosynthesis technology which allows 3D imaging of parts in a fraction of the time of CT imaging.

This is possible through the use of a series of low dose 2D X-ray projections which are taken from different positions, then reconstructed using specialized software algorithms to combine into a stack of slices.

These slices are presented in a scrollable stack which the NDT technician can then scroll through (like the pages of a book) and view features within the volume of the part. This technology is fast and accurate, providing results within minutes.
